Or hear the call of his heart as he sings "O Take Me Home" to his birthplace. Mo Javi understands the power of music and uses it to do one thing and one thing only: feel the power of love. Early Life

Mo Javi was born Maurice Javier Griffin Hubbard on June 16th, 1994 in Oak Park, IL. He grew up a single child and was mostly raised by his mother, who worked as a nurse, and grandmother, who was disabled and retired. Mo always showed signs of intelligence and creativity, but it wasn't until the age of 9 that he first picked up the violin. From the very first day he fell in love with the instrument and progressed at an impressive speed. By his fifth year his mother gave up on finding him a private tutor since he would surpass their teaching level within a matter of a few lessons.

Adolescence

Mo spent most of his adolescence struggling with depression and PTSD from severe bullying and sexual abuse he suffered as a child. Even though his violin skills were continuing to progress, he did not yet take music seriously and was too distracted by his mental and emotional issues to keep a regular practice schedule. Shortly after starting high school, his depression worsened and he turned to drugs and alcohol. However, his suffering finally came to an end at the age of 16 wjem Mo decided to get help and went to rehab for 7 months to work on himself.

During this time, Mo found his true passion for music. He realized that playing the violin was one of his greatest skills, and he regretted neglecting regular practice over the years. Luckily he was able to bring and play his violin in rehab, and soon he was practicing as often as he could. His immediate progress shocked both himself and his listeners, which made him want to play even more.

From that point on Mo had been considered a fantastic violinist. Within a year he went from last to first chair of his high school orchestra and placed highly in both regional and state competitions. He auditioned and was selected to be in the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and the Northwest Chicago Symphony Orchestra. After graduating, he was given a full ride music scholarship to Millikin University, but he turned it down for DePaul University to pursue music outside of school and study economics as a back up plan.

Early Career

After three years of studying economics, Mo decided that he needed to change something. He was working a full-time job, going to school full-time, and essentially doing all of the right things. But something inside told him that if he really wanted to pursue a career in the music industry that he would have to be actively working in the music industry. He took a weekend off of work to try something new: busking. He had never street performed before (especially for money) and the idea intruiged him. In that one weekend he made more money busking than he made working for a week at his full-time job.

He didn't need any convincing. He knew he had found his way to pursuing a real career in music and was ready to go all or nothing to live his dream of being a successful musician. In the fall of 2014 he quit his job, dropped out of DePaul, and started street performing full-time.

This was the happiest he had ever been.

Working as a self-employed musician gave him the freedom to truly explore the opportunities within the music industry and the time to perfect his craft and develop his business strategy. In his first year he traveled the country to perform in Nashville and Los Angeles where he gained even more valuable connections and experience. Within that year he also booked private gigs, completed session work, collaborated with a unique plethora of artists and bands, all while filling America's streets with hours and hours of his original music.

Today

With 15 years of musical experience under his belt, Mo has developed himself into more than just an instrumentalist; Mo Javi is a full-fledged artist. His recently released debut EP. "Three Of Me" testifies to this indisputable fact. Violin, vocals, and electronic music production are his calling cards and he plays them each with virtuosity.
